Rhubarb Designs put this fabulous Salt Spring Island deck together. The landscape design incorporates a variety of materials in interesting ways. Pictured here, some huge custom steel planters, steel risers and steel deck edging define the boundaries of the outdoor living space. The deck is built of ripped 2×6 clear cedar; 1.5 in wide x 3.5 in strips. The southwest exposure, and tall firs in the lower garden, combine to provide and endless display of shadow play on the planters.
