The Salt Spring United girls Silver Under 15 soccer team clobbered Juan de Fuca in the rain at Portlock Park yesterday. The strong Island team scored five, evenly spaced, unanswered goals.
Then, at the 80th minute mark, this young lady playing left forward, drilled a sixth goal past the Juan de Fuca keeper. But in my mind, it’s the emotion in the second photo, taken after the final whistle a minute later, that’s special.
