Loveland Bay is a Provincial Park with about 30 sites. It’s a short drive from Campbell River, and despite the information on many websites including the BC Parks site—the road across John Hart Dam is not closed.
The road from the dam to the campground was a bit rough with lots of potholes. All the campsites are along the lake’s edge. Only a few were occupied when we arrived. The camp host was great, perhaps because she had only a dozen days before retirement.
The water was clear and surprisingly warm. Apparently this park is very busy with families throughout the summer.
