After a very cold breezy night to blow all the clouds away, the pre-dawn colours are at their most intense. The islands and Cascade mountains stack up into layers with lighter sea fog in between.
Sometimes it’s nice to have a little separation between Canada and the USA.

Frost and soft winter pastels were on the menu at St. Mary Lake this morning.
And that marks the end of the cold snap of 2017. I saw a few folks skating over the water-covered ice on Cusheon Lake today, but I’ve put away the snow shovel and exchanged down for Gortex.
I just can’t bring myself to head out in search of dreary downpour images—at least not yet—stay tuned.
